Hello, I’m Alka {She/Her}!

First and foremost, I am a Seattle girl who loves coffee, reading, and music. So, my perfect day entails going to my favorite coffee shop to read an excellent book with a spectacular latte!

Currently, I attend Seattle University, and I major in Communication and Media with specializations in Strategic Communications and Communications Studies. 
​
Being a communicator and leader is a massive part of my identity. I was the head instructor of the special needs program and the preschool-age program at my Taekwondo school for five years. In both programs, I regularly recruited and trained instructors to teach effectively. Also, I facilitated student-instructor coordination, planning, and supervision to assist the progress of both students and instructors. Thus, I was a leader that thoroughly considered the needs of the students, instructors, and parents. My years as the head instructor motivated me to continue helping others succeed in their personal and professional goals.

My passion for public relations began while in a class at Seattle University that concentrated on creating a strategic communication plan for a company. I enjoyed the process of brainstorming, creating, and strategizing for a specific brand objective. My detail-and-result-oriented mindset flourished due to the creativity and thorough preparation required to successfully communicate and implement a public relations plan. Therefore, I wanted to study strategic communications to continue engaging with that side of my brain.

I will be graduating in December 2022 and am looking to start my career in the communications industry.
